This Awe-like FPS looks cool, also reminds us that sea cucumbers can release their own organs to scare predators
Trepang2 isn't the best game style, if you ask me, because it looks like someone's password, Beaver State what I'd typewrite if I chop-chop needful a throwaway project name in Adobe Premiere. "Trepang" refers to a sort of large holothurian, though, and as the recent Trepang2 pok above points out, the creatures are competent to expel their variety meat "as a ego-defense mechanism."
I'm not totally sure how that relates to the game, as it seems like the lead character mostly expels bullets, not their lungs and guts. The trailer, which was shown at the Future Games Show today, does show what happens when people's insides leave their bodies, to be fair. They break.
The trailer too tells United States of America that you'rhenium non expected to throw it out of the mission alive. Sea cucumbers, but then, can live evisceration—information technology wouldn't be practically of a self-defense mechanism if they couldn't. Plain, they just go connected and revitalize their variety meat like the heroes they are.
Back to Trepang2. Classic horror hired gun FEAR nearly obviously comes to mind arsenic a comparison—just look at those blood-splosions—and we got the same impression when we played the Trepang2 demonstration in 2019.
The environments shown are extremely 'skyscraper from a 2001 FPS,' but the blandness creates a nice neutral ground for those origin explosions. Unless there's some uncharted surprise here, Trepang2 probably can't lay claim to follow novel, so the little things will be what matters: the guns, the level figure, the enemy behaviors, the animations, the sound effects, and then connected. I respect a halt whose reason for existing is to execute an old idea genuinely well. You dismiss't decline stake on the sentiency that breaking new ground naturally results in both sloppiness.
Although a exhibit has been in stock for a couple age (you give notice find it on the Steam page), there's no release date set for Trepang2 all the same, but we do know that IT's coming out next year.
